Turning 30 is traditionally a time when folks look both behind and forward to see if they are where they want to be in life. With podcast 30 now available, I thought I’d take the opportunity to ask some questions myself.
So to celebrate podcast number 30, I’m putting up the first ever Broadcasting From Home listener survey! That’s right, now’s your chance to tell me what you really think – Do I talk too much on the podcast? do I play too much Yo La Tengo and not enough Celine Dion?
AND as a special bonus, not only do you get to voice your opinion, those who want can be entered into a drawing to win one of two copies of a very special CD that I’ve been saving for this very occasion. So, you get to sound off and win at the same time.
Here’s another link to the survey in case you didn’t see the one above.

After a two month absence (and three weeks in rehab), Scrappy’s back at the helm with his trademark mix that takes you from great American rock ‘n roll to cheesy Bollywood dance music all in one set.
Featuring a new track from Emmylou Harris, the soulful crooning of Richard Hawley, and tracks from Dirty Projectors and Local Natives that were given the thumbs-up by Scrappy’s 20-year-old daughter with discerning taste, Scrappy hopes you’ll forgive him for his leaving you in the musical lurch for so long. Oh, and as always, the request lines are open.

Why is the podcast going up on a Wednesday and not a Sunday you ask? Why Daddyo was hacked and Scrappy just got everything up and running. Yes that’s right – hacked! Michigan Governor Rick Snyder tried to take over Daddyo.com the way he’s taken over the town of Benton Harbor. But Scrappy fought back against the jackboot of tyranny and once again Daddyo.com and Broadcasting From Home are back on the air with a message of freedom and great music.
Now that the show is finally up, this week’s podcast is entitled Pop Goes The Podcast! That’s right, this week’s podcast features all sorts of fun, upbeat, offbeat and jangly music. Featuring pop gems from Ben Folds, Paul Westerberg, Jump, Queen, Spoon and other bands with one word names, come join Scrappy with this week’s mix of pop delights.

This week’s podcast features a number of hard to pronounce international tracks, which luckily, Scrappy does not slaughter. Also, Scrappy is set straight by a listener as to what kind of music is truly danceable. Add to that tracks from the likes of Beth Orton, The Trashcan Sinatras, Ryan Adams, Neil Young, Sinead O’Connor and more, and you’ve got one hour’s worth of pure Scrappy goodness.
